55. Amendment of section 3. |

Customs Tariff
—In section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) (hereinafter referred to as the Customs Tariff Act), in sub-section (2), in the proviso, in clause (a), for the words and figures "Standards of Weights and Measures Act, 1976 (60 of 1976)", the words and figures "Legal Metrology Act, 2009 (1 of 2010)" shall be substituted and shall be deemed to have been substituted with effect from the 1st day of March, 2011.
Clause 55 of the Bill seeks to amend section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act so as to substitute with effect from 1st March, 2011, the reference to the Standards of Weights and Measures Act, 1976 by a reference to the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 as the former Act has been repealed by the latter.
